Buzz and Woody Save the Day!
Posted on 14 July 2010
www.britethorn.com Toy Story 3 looks like its going to be a smash hit, but have you ever heard the story of Buzz and Woody’s greatest accomplishment? it all starts a long time ago, back in the ’90’s when George Lucas was getting a divorce, Steve Jobs was unwanted by Apple Computers and Toy Story wasn’t yet a twinkle in John Lasseter’s eye.

@ElitexSn1perx I saw it on CNBC yesterdday. My sources for the video were the books, “The Second Coming of Steve Jobs,” and “Disney War.” Both really, really good reads.
This same story was one the history channel. Just more explained and 2 hours long and told about the full length story of pixar. Very interesting
I would prefer to see a incredibles 2 instead
Very interesting story. Thanks for teaching me something today.
I love Toy Story but I am not sure another one is needed. I never knew that this happened. Thanks for that
Apple rocks. Pixar rocks. it’s Nazi sympathizers like Walt Disney that make me cringe. i hate the Ford family and have no tears for Charles Limburgh either. all that off my chest, i can’t wait to see this flick. cool alternative review britehorn!!
So is Toy story 3 really that good?
The ending made me cry a little :’)
@rionhunter It was interesting when Eric Schmidt, Google’c CEO, was on Apple’s Board of Directors. I doubt that the two companies will ever be as close again as they were in those days. Can you imagine what a union between the two companies would have been like?
@crimsong19 Who knows? Maybe in some alternate universe George Lucas never got divorced and made Toy Story with Star Wars action figures.
Great back story, John! I heard a few details here and there over the last week or so, actually.
I absolutely LOVED Toy Story 3.

@britethorn Just who they market too, how they’ve set up this image that you have to have the new product every year, the lack of…ability to upgrade the specs on anything…
ah
the whole…shiny thing is wearing down on me as well.
While I dislike Macs, I also wish Windows didn’t suck so much.

If I had to pick, I would choose Google
They WILL take over the world one day. Can’t beat them, join them
They know too much already.
Oh snap I didn’t know dat dats sik lol thnx 4 da news man and hek yea toy story roks woot
Can’t remember and retain that corporate lore stuff. But it IS fascinating. In classes on management style, etc., heard the “how Steve Jobs recruited John Sculley” story ~maybe~ two dozen times and in a half-dozen variations depending on what the lecturer is trying to illustrate. Most of the stories feature the semi-sort-of-quote: “you can make endless millions selling sugar-water, or you can change the world – your choice.”
@rionhunter What don’t you like about Apple? (not that I can’t think of one or two things myself.)
Fascinating story.
I am a huge fan of Pixar, but I have a few things to dislike about apple.
